Frequently Asked Questions
Why do I need to create an account to see the site?
In order to offer the lowest possible prices, we are required to be a members' only site. This allows us to make great sheet music available to the community while maintaining the highest level of service. It's the same reason why you need to show your membership card before you walk into a store like Costco—to offer the best prices and services to a committed community of users.
When I buy a song, do I download the sheet music as a PDF or is it mailed to me?
After purchasing a song, you'll be redirected to your library, where you can download the sheet music in PDF format and the reference audio in mp3 format.
What is the order of difficulty?
There are currently five difficulty levels, ranging from Beginner to Expert. Beginner Novice Intermediate Advanced Expert

At the bottom left of the checkout page, you'll find "Do you have a promotional code?" in green text. When you click on this text, in the box that appears, type in your promo code and click "Apply Code." This will apply that code to your purchase!
I purchased sheet music but never received it.
After purchasing a song, you'll automatically be redirected to your library where you can download the sheet music in PDF format and/or the reference audio in mp3.
If you are not redirected, you can view your library by clicking on your avatar on the top right corner of the page and then clicking on My Library.
Why are some of the notes in the sheet music different from the reference mp3?
Transcribing a song is a lot like translating a language. The translation may differ slightly depending on the person translating, but this is what makes each piece special.

The currency for all products reflected on the website is in United States dollars (USD).
Which cards and payment types are accepted?
We process payments through both Stripe and PayPal. With both of these payment processors we can accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.
We can also accept gift cards and prepaid cards (like Debit Visa Cards) as long as they are one of the above card types.
Will there be sheet music for guitar and other instruments soon?
We currently do not have plans to include guitar sheet music in the near future. We've had a couple opportunities to expand beyond piano, into other instruments, but the quality of the transcriptions just wasn't up to our standards and wouldn't meet the needs of our users. We're always on the look-out for talented individuals who can transcribe sheet music for other instruments but piano is what we do best and it's what we're going to spend our time focusing on.
Who chooses which sheet music Freebird Notes offers?
Most of the songs are chosen by staff members. Some of the songs are also recommended to us directly by our members by making a song request.
